What happens after approval
When the approver accepts the request, the hours are added to your attendance for the date and will be included in the next payroll run at the correct premium. The premium is based on the day type:
- Ordinary working day: 125% of your hourly rate
- Rest day or special non-working day: 169% (130% day rate times 130% overtime premium)
- Regular holiday: 260% (200% day rate times 130% overtime premium)
Night-shift hours between 10 PM and 6 AM add 10% on top of whatever rate applies. See how overtime pay is computed for the full rate table.
If the approver asks for changes
A rejected request shows the reason. File a new request with the correction. Do not edit a rejected request; file a fresh one so the history stays complete.
Track the result on your attendance
Approved overtime hours appear in your Attendance History under the day worked, listed separately from the regular 8-hour shift. Your payslip shows the overtime pay as a separate line.

Questions people ask
Do I need to file overtime before I work the hours?
If your company's Overtime Policy requires pre-approval, yes. The form shows whether pre-approval is required. For companies without pre-approval, you can file for hours already worked, but the approver still has to accept the request before it is paid.
What is the minimum overtime I can file?
Your Overtime Policy sets a minimum duration. Hours below that are not paid as overtime. The form will not allow you to submit a request shorter than the policy minimum.
What are the daily, weekly and monthly caps?
The policy sets maximum overtime hours per day, per week and per month. A request that would take you over any cap is refused on submission. Ask HR to adjust the policy if you expect to run over a cap.
Who approves my overtime request?
Your immediate supervisor by default, as configured in the overtime approval workflow. The approver's name is shown on the form.
Does overtime automatically include night differential?
Yes. If your overtime hours fall between 10 PM and 6 AM, the 10% night differential is applied automatically on top of the overtime premium. See how overtime pay is computed and how night shift differential is computed.
How is overtime paid if it falls on a rest day or holiday?
The overtime premium stacks with the day's premium. The pay is computed automatically. See how overtime pay is computed and how holiday pay is computed.
Can I cancel an overtime request?
Yes, while the request is still Pending. Open the request from your Requests list and select Cancel. Once approved, ask your approver to withdraw it.
