Record a suspension, AWOL or warning
The Disciplinary tab on an employee record keeps warnings, written warnings, suspensions and AWOL records. An active suspension or AWOL blocks leave filing and pauses monthly leave accrual until you lift it.
Open the Disciplinary tab
Go to People, then Employees, and open the employee. Select the Disciplinary tab. The tab turns red and shows a ! badge, and the card shows Active Suspension/AWOL, while a suspension or AWOL record is active.
The list shows each record's Type, Start Date, End Date, Paid Days, Status and Notes.
Add a record
- Select Add Record.
- Choose the Type: Warning (Verbal), Written Warning, Suspension or AWOL.
- Enter the Start Date. Enter the End Date too, or leave it blank if the action is ongoing.
- For a suspension, enter the Paid Days.
- Add Notes / Case Summary for HR's own record.
- Select Save Record.
A notice in the form reminds you that Suspension and AWOL records block leave filing and pause monthly accrual for the employee while they are Active.
Lift a record
Select Lift on an active record and confirm. The status changes to Lifted, and the red markings on the tab go away.
Before a dismissal
A warning or suspension record does not replace the due-process steps. See Notice to explain: the two-notice rule for dismissal.
